To be a progressive business and to stay competitive with other businesses in your industry one thing you can do is start using internet faxing. If you are a small business internet faxing will provide you with many benefits, so it is something to look into. Not to mention that it is easier to use for your small business than traditional faxing methods.

Step one:
The first thing that you will need to do is select the internet faxing service that is right for your small business. When selecting the right company you will want to have a list of the features that you cannot do without, but you also want to have a list of some features that you would enjoy but necessarily have to have. Having this list will help you eliminate certain internet faxing services, which will lead you to the right one for your business.

Step two:
Once you have found a few internet faxing services you will want to try out the service that they have to offer. Many of them will have a free trial period, which is perfect for any small business because it allows you to test out all of the features that they have to offer to ensure that it is going to be a perfect fit. If they have a free trial, you will want to sign up for that before doing anything else.

Step three:
If they do not have a free trial you will need to pay for at least one month of service, just so you can try out the service to ensure it is what you are looking for. To pay for the services the first thing that you will need to do is create an account or membership with the internet faxing service that you will be using. This should only take a few minutes, but without the account, you will not be able to send or receive faxes.

Step four:
Now that you have an account, you will need to select the fax number that is going to work best for your business. When selecting a fax number you want to think about your incoming faxes, plus where they are coming from. If most of your incoming faxes are going to be local you can select a local fax number, if they are going to be coming from all over you might want to select a 1-800 fax number just so your customers do not incur long distance charges when sending you a fax. Keep in mind that not everybody uses internet faxing, so they will incur charges for sending you a fax.

Step five:
To send a fax you will need to log into your account with the internet faxing service. Once you have logged in you can find detailed instructions on how to send a fax because each service might be a little bit different. The gist of sending a fax after you have logged into your account is to create the fax in whichever document format that you prefer and that the internet faxing service accepts, such as .PDF. Once you have created the fax you will need to input the number that you are faxing the document to and then attach the document. When you are finished attaching the fax simply click on the send button to send the fax to the intended recipient.

Step six:
To receive any faxes you will need to check the email account that is registered with the internet faxing service because all of your incoming faxes will be sent to you as emails. In most cases, the faxes will be sent as attachments in the emails so you will need to open the email and download the attachment to view your fax. Once this is done, you can save it to your computer or print out a hard copy.
