Would you like to know how much to pay for a gym membership? There are a few factors to help aid you in deciding what is best for you. You need to begin with if the membership is for one person, a couple or a family. Then you need to consider what you want to have access to in a gym.

There are gyms out there that offer family and couple rates. All gyms will offer a single membership fee. The fees are month to month and the rate is $30-$50. This is for a single membership with access to all the gym has to offer. This price will not include private lessons and certain special classes.

When paying for a gym membership, check out what the gym has to offer. For the price of $30 a person, you should get total gym access. This includes all courts, rock climbing, exercise classes, weight and cardiovascular machines and swimming pools. Big gyms will have more for you to choose from and so they will charge more money for a monthly fee. If you are looking for a particular gym to work out at or a gym that is close to your work and home, you may have to pay upwards of $50 a person a month.

To get the same access for a couple, you'll get a $3-7 discount per month. You'll pay $46.00 for the couple monthly. This may not seem great as a per month membership savings, but you will need to look at the enrollment fees as well. An enrollment fee will range from $100-$200. This enrollment fee of $100-$200 is for one person, per couple, or per family in some gym's. If you are going to sign up more than one person, do them together and save some money. Get a membership when the gyms are having specials. These specials often come at the New Year, but they are offered at different times throughout the year. Many gym's will waive the enrollment fee in the month of January. They want to get all those potential clients with new resolutions in to the gym.

For a $30 membership fee to a gym a person should be allowed access to all the facilities. This includes all pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms. You should get a large choice of classes, like kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, karate, dance classes, and more. You should be able to get into all the courts you would want to. And rock climbing should be included and not crowded for a typical gym membership fee.

Keep all of these in mind as you check out a gym for membership. It's not just the price you will need to look at but what the gym has to offer for that price. Also check with your insurance company. A lot of health insurance companies are giving discounts for gym memberships to their employees.

When considering how much to pay for a gym membership, consider how many locations there are for you to go to. If you choose a larger gym company, there is a good chance there is more than one location for you to choose from. The fact is that not all gym's, even with the same name will have the exact same options for a workout. Some may have an indoor track while others may have an indoor pool. When you get a membership to a gym it is good for all gym locations. So you can go running at one location on Monday and then on Tuesday go swimming at another. Gyms that have $30 membership fees will have all the facilities you can think of, however they may not all be at one location. The gyms that charge a $50 membership fee should have all these facilities in one location.

How much you pay for a gym membership fee, will be affected by what it is you are looking for in a gym. You can pay $30 a month for one person and have access to so many different workout options. There are usually discounts of $3-5 per person per month for couples and families joining together. Try to join when you can get your enrollment fee waived and save some more money.
