When you are pregnant your body undergoes many changes, and part of those changes mean pregnancy woes. You face problems like morning sickness and constipation, and feeling energyless all due to pregnancy. Well, while these things usually can not be avoided, there are foods that can help. So, keep your kitchen stocked with items that can ease your pregnancy woes.

The following are some great little snacks to eat to help with your pregnancy woes, and give you a quick fix.

Morning sickness:

Morning sickness is the horrible nauseous feeling you have. It does not just happen in the morning, it can be anytime, but it is worse if you have an empty stomach. Many women have found that their morning sickness is almost unbearable, until they learn to grab one of these items from their fridge or cupboard:

  • Carbonated drinks (without artificial sweeteners)
  • Crackers
  • Anything ginger
  • Lemon
  • Hard candies
  • Herbal teas (red raspberry, lemon, spearmint, peppermint, peach, or chamomile)
  • Potato chips
  • Pretzels
  • Protein bars
  • Toast
  • Yogurt

Of course not all of these work for every one, and not everyone has as bad of morning sickness as someone else. However, one of these things should work for you, so try them until you find what works for you. Some people can't handle sweet, others find too dry makes them gag. Ginger is a natural anti-nausea item, so try that first.

Constipation:

When you are pregnant, your fetus has to be somewhere, and the room they take up used to be where your intestines sat with room to spare. So, now your intestines are being squeezed, and they do not have a lot of room for waste to pass through them, thus the inevitable constipation. However, just like when you are not pregnant, if constipation is your problem, the answer is simple: fiber, fiber, fiber.

Here's a list of low-maintenance, high-fiber foods that might ease your trouble:

  • Barley
  • Beans and peas
  • Bran
  • Dark-colored fruits and vegetables
  • Leafy greens
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Oats and oatmeal
  • Apple and prune juices
  • Prunes and figs
  • Whole grain breads and cereals

The easier it is for the food to move through you, the less chance your body will have of being constipated. So also just be sure to properly chew all food, and get plenty of liquid.

No energy:

One of the big pregnancy woes is not having any energy. Many pregnant women find it very difficult to get enough sleep not because of lack of time (which becomes the problem AFTER baby is born), but because their sleep is not restful. When you are pregnant your body changes and it can become increasingly difficult to find comfortable positions to sleep in. Also, pregnant women have more pressure on their bladders, and the need to get up frequently during the night in order to urinate is also a problem. So, this results in little energy during the day. The most important thing to remember here is that you should not load up on caffeine or sugar to boost your energy levels, as this is unhealthy, and bad for baby. You should eat natural foods. The following are a list of great for you foods that will help boost your energy levels quickly.

  • Apple slices dipped in a natural (no-sugar added) peanut butter
  • Celery sticks and peanut butter
  • A half an avocado
  • An orange or glass of fresh squeezed orange juice
  • A handful of your favorite nuts
